IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: STUDENT EMAIL

The JSCC Department of Information Technology is in the process of migrating your student email from Gmail to Office 365.  This transition will take place on Tuesday, October 20 starting at 7:00 pm and will be completed by Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 am.  During this 12-hour period student email will not be accessible.  An email will be sent to your current Gmail account by Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 noon explaining the steps to make this transition.  Below are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) regarding this changeover.   

FAQ: 

  • Will my email address change? 

No, you will still have the same email address:  _______@mail.jamessprunt.edu. 

  • Can I still log into my old JSCC Gmail account after the migration? 

Yes, you can retrieve and save items from the old Gmail account, but all new emails will be sent to the new Office 365 account. 

  • What happened to the emails that were in my old JSCC account? 

Those emails have been forwarded to the new Office 365 account. 

  • Where will I find the link to log in? 

The Office 365 link is at the top of the JSCC web page. 

Be aware that your email will look different once you log into the new Office 365 account.  However, your email address will not change and all your messages from Gmail will convert over to Office 365.  This change is necessary to allow students and faculty/staff to all be on the same email system for more efficient communication.
