Students, do not forget you are held accountable for the completion and submission of your own work. James Sprunt's Academic Dishonesty Policy is provided to you on all course syllabi; the policy outlines the expectations for students in regards to plagiarism, multiple submissions, and cheating. The consequences of academic dishonesty are also clearly outlined.
If you have questions regarding any of the information provided in the policy you are encouraged to communicate with your instructor(s) before submitting an assignment; they are there to assist you and ensure you have a clear understanding of the expectations. If you suspect someone is using your work as their own, notify the instructor or your academic advisor. Remember, you should never give others your login information for email, Moodle, or WebAdvisor, doing so violates the Acceptable Use Policy and gives them access to violate the Academic Dishonesty Policy as well.
JSCC provide several areas of help for students when completing assignments. Instructors, library staff, counselors, Student Support Services, are all resource areas where students may find assistance. Academic honesty is important to ensure you are acquiring the skills needed to further your education and to prepare you for the workforce. Take responsibility for your education, complete your own work and build the integrity needed to succeed in your personal and career goals.
