Duplin County Job Fair - April 18th, 11am - 1:30pm

by Heather Lanier -

The Duplin County Job Fair will be held on JSCC’s campus tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM at the Athletic Complex.

We have over 50 employers attending from various industries and locations in eastern North Carolina READY TO HIRE and we look forward to a successful day of networking.

Attached is a list of employers that will be in attendance. This is a great opportunity for students to make connections and become familiar with local employers. Please invite your family and friends too!

Please note, that the parking lots beside the tennis courts and in front and around the Hoffler building will be closed starting today at 5:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Thursday for the job fair. Frank's Seafood truck will be set up at the Athletic Complex (11:00 AM - 1:30 PM) and Sparty's Cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch.

Important Information re: Phishing Email

by Heather Lanier -

Please be aware of a phishing email that has been circulating that says you have two accounts and asks for your username and password.  This is NOT LEGITIMATE; please do not click on any links or ever provide your password when you receive such emails. If you have received this message and clicked on this by mistake, there are no further steps that need to be taken.  Our IT department is working to resolve the problems.

Some ways to identify phishing emails are:

  • The request or information seems odd or suspicious.
  • It includes an urgent call to action or a threat.
  • The email is asking for personal information.
  • You did not initiate the request or conversation.
  • The sender does not seem legitimate.
  • The email includes suspicious attachments.

Whenever you are suspicious of the contents of an email, never click on the link and never provide your password for any of your accounts through these requests. Thank you for your diligence in keeping your accounts secure.
